This little trick of the trade could not be found on the internet when we encountered it. Well internet, here it is.

1. On the affected machine run SymantecRemovalToolExtractorV2.zip that can be found in SEP Cloud Removal Tool folder in Symantec’s fileshare:

https://fileshare.symantec.com
Username – SHEP1
Password – Password123#

2. Reboot the machine
3. Run the tool for a second time.
4. There is a Cleanwipe tool available in this location https://fileshare.symantec.com, which performs a scan on any remaining Symantec products (I would advice running this to make sure no extracts are left).
5. Make sure the Symantec.cloud software has been removed from add/remove programs.
6. Navigate to C:/program files and ensure the Symantec.cloud folder has been removed. If not then delete it.
7. Log into your .cloud portal (https://hostedendpoint.spn.com/) to delete the machine name.
